Thanksgiving Day and the weekend isn't just for a turkey dinner.
That weekend, if you're not in the gym working on your health and fitness, there are a ton of activities you and your family can do!
Oktoberfest is a German festival traditionally held in late September and/or early October. It involves a whole ton of beer and German-style pub foods like sausages and sauerkraut, and some accordion and polka music.
Trust us, it'll be a good time.
The Vancouver Alpen Club is holding there +19 event on Friday, Oct. 11th and Saturday, Oct. 12th with doors opening at 7:30PM.
For more information, visit their event page.
2. Fort Langley Cranberry Festival
Come down to Fort Langley for the annual Fort Langley Cranberry Festival.
They'll be celebrating their 24th year with a full day of activities featuring a pancake breakfast, a marketplace with tons of vendors, live music, food trucks, and plenty of cranberry-themed things to do.
The event is a great way to bond with the family this Thanksgiving weekend.
Admission is free for youth ages 17 and under, and because of the festival, will be free for adults as well on Oct. 12.
It takes place rain or shine from around 10am to 4pm, and be early! There's going to be a lot of people there!
3. Vancouver Halloween Expo 2019
Get spooky with the Vancouver Halloween Expo, a weekend of events that include a comics and anime-themed exhibition, parade, and entertainment along Robson Square and outside the Vancouver Art Gallery.
It'll take place from Oct. 11 to 13, which also happens to be the Thanksgiving long weekend.
The 3-day event includes both free and ticketed events.
We have a special event, too! 😉
Workout at Steve Nash Fitness World and Sports Club before and after your Thanksgiving Day weekend, so you can make some space for that turkey, or work it off afterwards.
