Downtown Vancouver was closed for one of the biggest events the city has to offer, and Steve Nash Fitness Clubs was there!
From Friday, May 3rd to Sunday, May 5th, our team was out and about talking to spectators, athletes, and many more during the Health, Sports, and Lifestyle Expo, and the BMO Vancouver Marathon.
During the Expo (Friday, Saturday), our sales team, Personal Trainers, and marketing team hung out at the Steve Nash Fitness Clubs booth, while capturing the event.
We ran contests; a chance to win a one year membership, or to win a Hyperice Vyper 2.0 3-Speed Vibrating Foam Roller, which people got the chance to try!
We also had the TRX Maps, where participants had the chance to view the results of their mobility, activation, posture, and symmetry, based on how they performed 3 overhead squats. TRX Maps pop up in our clubs; come on by, try them out, and get some insight on your body's makeup!
The following day was race day, and the atmosphere was incredible.
This year, the marathon broke an attendance record with over 18,000 overall marathon participants between the Marathon, Half-Marathon, and the eight-kilometre run.
From racers, to supporters, friends and family, to volunteers and long-time staff members, everyone was excited to see the runners take part in one of the biggest marathons not only in Vancouver, but the world.
Later on, his fiancee, Yuko Mizuguchi, was the first woman to cross the finish with a time of 2:41:28.
Once all the runners finished up, they made their way towards the Steve Nash Recovery Zone where our Personal Trainers were able to stretch them out, give recovery advice, while also providing them with space to foam roll and rest.
As an official sponsor and fitness club for BMO Vancouver Marathon, we can't wait to be back next year!
