Now that the fall season is here and the cold weather is just around the corner, it’s time to bring your cycling indoors.
Group Cycling (or “spinning”) is an effective workout resulting in a stronger core, powerful legs, and improved cardiovascular endurance.
The popular class format has taken off because of the immediate results found in low impact, high intensity cardiovascular training. Unlike other clubs and studios, SNFC classes have variety in focus and are always multi-level, while emphasizing the importance of fundamental cycling technique and form for a safe and effective ride.
Here are a few of our innovative cycling formats that set us apart from the pack:
While spinning entails mild core contraction to support your upper body for the entire ride, it is not an ideal ergonomic position. Despite the sweat, being seated during this workout unfortunately doesn’t counter other daily postural positions such as sitting in a car or at a desk. Cycle Core is a terrific blend where riders benefit from spinning for the first half, and then get off the bike for focused core work in different postural positions on the floor. Our members love balancing the thrill of the ride with the important benefits of planks, ab roll ups, and back extensions to round out the class.
This is our newest signature ride. A no-nonsense approach to achieving as much as you can within a 45-minute timeframe. After a 5-minute warm-up, lose yourself in high intensity interval training drills such as sprints and short climbs, driven by great beats and dynamic drills. Finish with a 7-minute cool down and stretch, and you're good to go!
Drills + Hills
As the name implies, this class format has a focus on mastering those challenging virtual climbs to build power and burn loads of calories. No low-resistance spinning in the standing position here; this class teaches proper technique allowing you to build strength and overcome imaginary mountains to tackle anything that comes your way. Unrelenting and unforgiving, but oh, so empowering!
Whichever class you chose, you are guaranteed to burn calories, sweat, build up your cardiovascular endurance, improve cycling technique, and most of all have fun!
