With wedding season approaching, brides are getting themselves ready to look and feel their very best on their big day!
Meghan Markle, American actress (and soon-to-be Duchess), is set to marry Prince Harry on May 19 of this year–and like any bride, she will be preparing herself for the wedding by sticking to a regular fitness regime and healthy diet.
Meghan’s health has always been her number-one priority. Her mother is a yoga instructor, so she was taught from an early age the importance of taking care of yourself.
You, too, can do a Meghan Markle workout by following some of the many ways she stays fit and healthy:
Markle uses multiple ways to stay in shape. One of her favorites is running, or jogging almost every day. It helps clear her head, just as much as it helps keep her in shape. When the winter months approach, she will skip the cold weather for an indoor treadmill workout (plus, it helps her stay away from the paparazzi!).
Online Workout Videos
When short for time, Meghan will watch online workout videos–according to eNews. It’s something she can easily do with her busy schedule. These workouts are often referred to as HIIT (high intensity interval training), which is where you perform a short burst of high intensity exercise, followed by a brief low intensity exercise, repeatedly. Meghan will do portions of workout videos throughout the day when she can fit them in. By the end of the day, she’s had a full workout!
Yoga and Pilates
Having a yoga instructor as a mother growing up, Meghan has always attended yoga and Pilates sessions. One of her favourites is a candle-lit hip hop yoga class. While those types of classes may be hard to find, there are many yoga classes at Steve Nash Fitness Clubs that can fit your needs. The benefits of yoga include increased flexibility and muscle strength, greater happiness, increased mental focus, a greater ability to relax, decreased anxiety and better sleep.
As far as nutrition goes, Meghan loves food, specifically carbs! French fries, pasta, all the best kinds! She tends to eat vegan during the week, and allows herself to eat more flexible on weekends. One thing Meghan lives by is her green juice. Blending apple, kale, spinach, lemon, and ginger in the morning keeps her energy high–instead of reaching for that cup of coffee, and experiencing a crash in the middle of the day.
Meghan really believes in living a “balanced” lifestyle.
Diets do not work for her as she never wants to feel deprived. She really is living balanced in every aspect of her life—body and mind!
