4 Tips to Help You Make the Most of Your GT12 Session

What comes to your mind when you think about GT12? Sweaty? Tired? Exhausted? #HiitAndQuit?

The purpose of GT12 is to help you grow and get stronger, and here are some tips to help you make the most of your GT12 session.

Tip #1: Allow yourself a little warm up time before the class. 

There will be different exercises for every GT12 class working on different parts of your body, whether your core, shoulder or even mobility! So it will always be a surprise every class! Come in with some warm up can help you set up.

Arrive 10 minutes before the class, finish your warm up on a treadmill, elliptical or whatever you like to do for warm up. The warm up should gently wake up you body and prepare it for exercises by gradually increasing the heart rate and circulation; It also loosen the joints and increase blood flow to the muscles.

Following with the warm up, a few sets of dynamic stretch targeting different parts of body can prepare your muscle for physical activities during the class and prevent injuries.

Tip #2: Eat proper pre-workout.

Proper pre-workout helps improve muscle protein synthesis, prevent muscle damage and promote recovery. Even though every body is different, there are some basic guidelines to follow to stay strong during your GT12 class:

 

  • Eat carbohydrates for energy because they are one of your body’s best fuel sources due to the efficient way they use oxygen;
  • Eat proper protein for muscle recovery since amino acids are building blocks for your muscle. You can always consult one of our personal trainer professionals for pre-workout protein suggestion for your body condition.
  • Good hydration is also essential to workout performance endurance. Drink about 250ml of water an hour ahead of the class, and take adequate sips during the workout in order to stay strong.

Tip #3: Pay attention when the instructor is talking.

There are 12 workstations of exercises for every set consisting of cardiovascular and resistance training. Depends on the instructor, the activities can vary for every class. Do listen when the instructor is demonstrating the exercise and feel free to ask questions. It can make your workout smoother and more effective.

GT12 allows you to challenge yourself and try out new exercises every week, it also gives you a chance to make friends and keep motivated.
