Morning Pre-Workout Protein Smoothie

Morning Pre-Workout Protein Smoothie


  • 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 banana (or your choice of fruit)
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 scoop of protein powder
  • Ice cubes

Throw all of these ingredients into a blender and whip it up an hour to thirty minutes before you head to the gym. The protein and carbs will give you the energy to get those last reps out.

The great thing about this recipe is that it can be mixed and modified to suit your taste and goals. Try adding natural peanut butter for more protein and fats. Add in oatmeal if you want more calories. Add flax, hemp hearts, or a veggie like spinach for more vitamins and fibre. Customize it to suit your needs.
